integration and performance
As a leading actor and director on the musical theatre
stage for almost 30 years I can provide expertise and
first hand experience of the requirements needed to
successfully develop your performance in musical theatre today.
For many performers the most difficult aspect
of musical theatre is to combine the physical demands
of singing and the emotional demands of the character
to produce a convincing and honest performance.
Explore and develop approaches to the integration
of acting and singing into performance; learn to
use the dramatic text of the lyrics and your voice
together to tackle the challenges of any role.
One and two day workshops available
acting for television
Explore topics such as the process from script to screen,
improvisation, sight-reading, characterisation, rehearsal
and audition process. Study actual TV scripts and learn
the art of taking the character from the page to the screen.
As a professional television director, I can help you build your confidence
in acting for the camera by helping you to understand the filmmaking process
and the difference between acting for theatre and acting for film and television.
One and two day workshops available
technique and preparation
TALENT can‘t be taught, but talent can be taught to shine through technique.
If you need to prepare for an important audition or presentation,
or hone a solo performance, I can help.
Learn to work at your highest level, stretch your possibilities
and realise the potential you see in yourself!
If necessary you will be given your own personal vocal warm-up
exercises and warm up CD/tape.
Home tutoring available.
